NFL Jonesin’: Romeo Must Frye? Or Anderson?

Published by Adam at 2:30 pm under B.S. (General)

  • The Tennessee Titans are trying to ruin my life by attempting to have the courts prohibit Pacman Jones from wrestlin’, citing that his participation would be a breach of contract. C’mon, let The Namesake wrestle! Don’t make me start a petition up in here (like it woudl do any good, but still). - SI.com
  • Bears FB Obafemi Ayanbadejo (can’t we shorten that somehow?) has been suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league’s substance policy. Apparently, the banned substance was an anti-estrogen drug and he was unaware that the drug was banned. Anti-estrogen? Was he afraid of getting bitch tits from all of those other steroids he was taking? I mean, dude doesn’t look like he’s not taking steroids. - The Feed
  • Romeo Crennel (fansonly.com)How does Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel pick his starting QB? Eat Big Macs until he’s full, and pick the starter according to whose number he’s closer to? No. In that case, I’m pretty sure that Charlie Frye (No. 9) would beat out Derek Anderson (No. 3). Hell, if he did that big Orpheus Roye (No. 99) might get the call. What he actually does is flip a coin. - Epic Carnival
  • Mike Alstott is calling it a career. Here’s a nice, short little retrospective of The A-Train’s career, written by a Bucs fan. - Football Outsiders
  • TE Chris Mizell — aspiring pro football player, blogger extraordinaire and ex-Ivy League star — has an awesome non-corporate blog out — Christopher Robert Myself. If you like candidness, football and hip-hop, then you’ll really dig his stuff. - The Blog of Hilarity
  • A well-written San Diego Chokers, um, I mean Chargers preview. While they certainly have the talent to win the AFC West and go to the Super Bowl, all bets are off with Norv Turner taking the shots. Just my humble opinion. - Epic Carnival
  • Back-up Bengals RB Kenny Irons is done for the season after tearing his ACL. That’s bad news for the rookie, but this paired with Chris Perry still on the PUP makes Rudi Johnson a pretty attractive fantasy option. - The Fanhouse
  • I’ve heard from a couple of sources now that Detroit Lions rookie WR Calvin Johnson looked great last night. Should we just give him the Offensive ROY trophy now?
  • The other highlight from last night’s preseason action, was Ocho Cinco getting decapitated and letting Carson Palmer have it afterwards. Is it just me, or is almost anything more entertaining when Chad Johnson is involved. Check out the YouTube footage…

Friday Flicks will drop later tonight!
