What’s the difference between a strained groin and a torn groin (I personally wouldn’t want either)? If you’re LaDainian Tomlinson, it’s the difference between playing and not playing, as he expressed to reporters while describing the injury that caused him to miss the second half of San Diego‘s upset playoff win over the Colts. “It’s definitely torn,” Tomlinson said. “If it was a strain, I’d be able to play with it. Trust me. A lot of guys have strains.” Yeah…and sometimes credulity gets strained too L.T. But I guess I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you really are too hurt to play and aren’t just punking out on your team the same way you did last season. You’re not a malingerer, you’re not a pussy.
Actually, what the hell do the Chargers care anyway? They have Darren Sproles. Who knows…he and Philip Rivers, who by the way played despite having a completely blown-out knee last season in the playoffs, may just take San Diego all the way into the Super Bowl. L.T. will have great seats for that one, and won’t even have to pay for them.
