Bob Knight May be Mulling Return
Though no official contact has been made between the two entities in question, Hall-of-Fame dickhead basketball coach Bobby Knight says he would listen to the University of Georgia if they approached him about taking over their hoops program. “It has to be a situation that I think is right for me and one where I would be right for the university,” Knight told Mike Tirico and Scott Van Pelt on their radio program. “I have never said that I wouldn’t coach again. I’ve simply said in the past, if the right situation came along, I would be interested.” You’re probably thinking the same thing I am right now: Mike Tirico and Scott Van Pelt have a radio show? When the hell did this happen? And should Greenberg and Golic be worried? I think they should: Tirico is genuinely articulate, instead of merely pompous like Greenberg, and Van Pelt…well, comparing Van Pelt to Mike Golic in terms of amusement is like comparing Picasso and an elephant as painters. The elephant may occasionally do something that looks like something but it’s only by accident, whereas Picasso actually knew what he was doing.
As to Bob Knight possibly returning to coaching…what kind of pheasant-hunting to they have down in Georgia? Do people get irate when bastards start raining bird shot down on them when they’re trying to clean their pool? Is the school ready to pay a large amount of money to a coaching dinosaur who has a better chance of being run out of town in disgrace than leading the team beyond the second round of the tournament? I’m not sure Bob is worth the headache anymore.
