More Shocking: T.O. Cut by Cowboys/Robin Williams in the Hospital

The Dallas Cowboys decided that 3 years of Terrell Owens was quite enough, and yesterday released the future Hall of Fame wide receiver.  Owens was supposed to be the last piece of the Cowboys’ Super Bowl puzzle, but unfortunately, several of the other pieces turned out to not be exactly what they seemed at first, and instead of a Super Bowl picture the Cowboys ended up with a picture of playoff disappointment and late season chokery.  Thankfully for Dallas, they covered themselves last year by acquiring Roy Williams, who can now become the #1 receiver he thinks he is in his mind.  The Dallas locker room figures to be a quieter, more harmonious place without Owens there making trouble over Tony Romo and Jason Witten‘s obvious man-love.

The suddenness with which Dallas dumped T.O. is indeed quite stunning, but the really shocking news of the day comes from the land of show-biz:  Yesterday, beloved funny-man and sometime overrated dramatic actor Robin Williams checked himself into a Florida hospital with shortness of breath (something I’m surprised doesn’t happen more often when you consider how much effort he puts into making people barely laugh).  Doctors recommended a week of rest…then sent in Patch Adams to cheer Williams up; at which point Williams realized how incredibly unfunny the Patch Adams schtick is and issued an apology to the entire human race.  Get well soon Robin.  Oh, and nanoo nanoo.

Dear Sir: I just returned from a 2 wk Humanitarian Clowning trip to Russia with Patch Adams. We clowned in children's hospitals, orphanages and hospice homes. He's been doing this for 24 years and going around the world to other war-torn countries to pursue peace, love and comfort to suffering people. He speaks all over the US as well and is trying to build the World's First Silly Hospital in W. VA. to offer excellent, free care to those in need. (patchadams.org)
Robin's name is recognized all over the world for his concern and support of children in need. He helps us all laugh at ourselves--in a good way-- and he's raised our consciousness to the inequities in the mental health arena.
And so I felt sad and angry when you wrote comments about Robin and Patch that were uninformed, unkind and untrue.
Would you please apologize to your readers? Many would appreciate it deeply.
Thank you. In peace, Judy in California

Your unfunny comments about Robin Williams' illness are churlish, disgusting and show you up as a complete a--h---. Maybe when YOU have a heart attack or stroke, and are gasping to breathe, everybody will stand around you while you're struggling for your life on the ground, laughing their heads off at your comedy, criticizing your "act." What goes around comes around, and no bad deed goes unpunished. Remember that. In my own experience and observation, the great white light force that we call God has a great sense of humor and an exceedingly fine sense of justice. I don't predict an easy end for you if you do not choose to mend your ways and make your amends to those you have harmed. Start by apologizing to Robin Williams directly for your cruel remarks about his illness, and to your public as well, who will desert you for your viciousness if you do not.
