Terrell Owens was rather stunningly signed to a one-year, $6.5 million contract by the Buffalo Bills Saturday, and in his introductory press conference, the happy receiver immediately went on the offensive against all the media negativity that has been swirling around him since basically forever. “That’s all hearsay,” T.O. said of his history of being a jackass who tears up locker rooms like tornados tear up small Kansas towns. “If you look at all of the comments that have come from all of my teammates with the Cowboys, it’s all been positive. Prior to that, I can’t really . . . I don’t really want to get into it. I’ll let my teammates speak highly and I think they have done that. They’ve spoken and they speak loudly as to what transpired.”
Yes T.O., it’s all hearsay. And rumor and innuendo and sometimes deliberate conspiracy. In fact you are a great guy who is beloved by all of your teammates and it’s somehow the media’s fault that you’ve now been run out of three cities in your career. And it’s the media’s fault that the league is littered with guys, from Jeff Garcia to Andy Reid to Tony Romo, who hate you like Sienna Miller hates abstinence. It’s the media’s fault that Jerry Jones loved you like a step-son from a previous marriage but still dumped you on the advice of numerous people. Sorry T.O., but the facts in this case are a bulldozer, and your lameness is a foreclosed house in Detroit. Have fun wrecking the Bills.
