Selena Roberts‘ new book on A-Rod will allege, among other things, that the MLB star took steroids in high school, and was still doing them after being traded from the Rangers to the Yankees (despite his insistence that he gave them up while still with the Rangers).  Pretty damning accusations – but maybe not the most serious ones Roberts has to offer.  The worst thing in the book may, in fact, be an account of the nickname A-Rod’s Yankee teammates gave him when they noticed his steroid use had caused his breasts to expand.  That nickname?

Unpleasantness mars Hawks v. Heat Game 5:  The Hawks’ Josh Smith knocks down Dwyane Wade, who strikes his head on the floor.  Wade leaves the game for a time, and upon returning, is too groggy to play effectively.  He is, however, not too groggy to nearly get in a fight with Solomon Jones after a hard foul.  Technicals are called.  Wade later retaliates with a hard foul on Maurice Evans, earning a flagrant.  End result:  Discombobulated Heat lose 106-91 and are on the cusp of elimination.  Hawks announcer Steve Holman gets taunty on Wade’s ass (via Larry Brown Sports):

Usain Bolt is the fastest man on two legs, and evidently, he also thinks he is the fastest man on four wheels.  Unfortunately, when one drives fast on four wheels, one sometimes loses control of one’s vehicle – especially if the road one is driving on has been rained on recently – and crashes.  And ends up injuring oneself and one’s female passenger. Fortunately, Bolt and his female passenger were not badly injured.  His BMW has seen better days though.

The Sport Science show is awesome.  A little while ago it featured Ray Lewis proving he could bust a door better than a police battering ram, and now it’s shown us, with some help from 2008 PGA Player of the Year Padraig Harrington, that Happy Gilmore’s run-up driving style actually does give you more length off the tee.  And it sorta looks cool, especially if your swing is as pretty as a PGA golfer’s.

Orlando Magic fans who think Dwight Howard is too nice a guy were probably encouraged to see him get feisty and throw an elbow at Samuel Dalembert during Game 5 of the team’s big playoff series with Philadelphia; however, they were probably not pleased to learn that Dwight will not be participating in Game 6 after being suspended for said intentional blow to the cranium.  Dear Dwight:  you can’t help your team win if you’re not on the floor.  Ask Tracy McGrady and Kevin Garnett.
