I Don’t Think Shaq Wants to Play in Phoenix Anymore
Shaquille O’Neal’s career with the Phoenix Suns appears to be drawing to a close, unless Phoenix intends paying the resurgent but still dirt-old center $20 million to return next season. Wanna take bets on the Suns picking up that check? Right now I’d place the odds at about 5% – which is possibly higher than Shaq himself would place them, at least going by his remarks about the Suns’ new policy of thriftiness. Said the Diesel:
I’m sure there’s going to be some decisions to be made. It’s not my job (to decide). There are two types of business owners. Do you want to win or do you want to save money? Period.
Shaq continued by praising one owner he thinks places winning over profit:
The guy over here [Dallas owner Mark Cuban] spends money. I don’t think he’s really worried about the salary cap. I’ve been around 17 years and that’s what it is. You either want to win and don’t really care about the salary cap or you want to be under the salary cap.
Well, what the hell does Shaq care? Phoenix isn’t going anywhere anyway. And yeah, Mark Cuban probably is goofy enough to make a deal for Shaq. He might do it just for the entertainment value. He certainly wouldn’t be doing it for the championship. He had his shot and Dirk Nowitzki choked it away for him.

shaq will be back with the lakers next year if the lakers dont win the title.
