Former Jaguars WR Jimmy Smith was pulled over Wednesday in Jacksonville for having too much tint in the windows of his Mercedes (who hasn’t had that happen to them), and by the time the traffic stop was over, police had arrested him for possession of crack cocaine and marijuana. Smith, who is also charged with driving on a suspended license, was at last report being held at Duval County Jail with bond yet to be set. Shockingly, this was not Smith’s first brush with the law: In 2001, while still a member of the Jaguars, he tested positive for traces of cocaine after being pulled over on suspicion of drunk driving, but was ultimately let off. And then in 2003, Smith, who was in the NFL’s substance abuse policy after the 2001 incident, committed another undisclosed violation was hit with a four-game suspension. Smith is the Jags’ all-time leader in receiving yards (12,287 ) and is 2nd to Fred Taylor in touchdowns (71).
You get the windows tinted so no one can see you smoking while you drive…and then you get pulled over for the tint. That’s when you know God’s trying to tell you something.
