David Stern: Cuban Blog Apology to Kenyon Martin Insufficient

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment |

NBA commish David Stern put in his two cents on Mark Cuban‘s half-assed blog-based apology to Kenyon Martin and his mother:

Stern, via the Associated Press, said he had asked Cuban to apologize more directly to Kenyon Martin’s mother, Lydia Moore.

“I thought it was an attempt at an apology in the blog, which is the way Mark communicates,” Stern said. “But [players' association director] Billy [Hunter] and I agreed that something more was called for and I called Mark and suggested he reach out, which I’m reliably informed he did.”

Still, according to AP, Stern wasn’t sure if Cuban had contacted Moore.

Stern was also asked why Cuban was not disciplined by the league.

“I thought it was time to try to make cooler heads prevail and move to something else,” Stern said. “Because this is a league that I think takes justifiable pride in its inclusiveness and diversity, and this was not something I felt particularly proud of.”

Translation:  David Stern hated Mark Cuban before, and now he hates him even more for fomenting a bunch of racist absurdity among drunken swine Mavericks fans who, being from Texas, are already disgustingly racist as it is.  Too bad Stern doesn’t have the guts to do what should be done:  slap a one-year ban on Cuban, who needs to be taught a lesson about inciting racial hatred and basically being a low-rent jack-ass.
