That 40-point blow-out loss the other night against the Lakers did not break the Rockets‘ spirit; in fact, it may only have motivated them even more to give a good showing in game 6. Now the Lakers find themselves where you know they absolutely did not expect to find themselves: having to play a seventh game to get rid of Houston. And it is far from a foregone conclusion that the Lakers will get the job done.
Question: at what point does Rick Adelman start getting some credit for his coaching? I know it’s the NBA and everyone says coaches don’t matter, but dang man – extending the allegedly championship-bound Lakers to 7 games with Yao Ming on the shelf? Adelman ought to be able to cash that in for at least a little dap.
And how are people feeling about that potential Kobe Bryant-LeBron James match-up now? Nuggets-Cavs would be a better series, frankly. The Cavs might actually wipe the Lakers out in 4 if they played. Who wants to see that? Besides sadistic Kobe/Phil haters.
