That’s What Replay’s for Video: Review Gives Mets Game-Winning Homer

Posted by: danzinski

ESPN is calling Omir Santos’s two-run game-winning homer off Jonathan Papelbon “controversial.”  Why?  The replay looks pretty definitive to me.  Oh, but this is ESPN, so anything even remotely debatable is immediately deemed a major controversy.  That’s what happens when you have too damn many hours of air-time to fill – you make mountains out of molehills.  And of course you have to justify keeping people like Steve Phillips around.  I imagine they don’t leave him on the payroll for his personality.
