A month ago Helio Castroneves looked like he was going to the big house for stealing from Uncle Sam. But then the courts acquitted him of tax evasion, and on Sunday the guy whose last name makes me think of John Wayne Bobbitt completed his comeback from the brink of despair by winning the Indianapolis 500.
Piece of advice for Helio: better declare all of your prize money. Yes, I know, everyone hates taxes, but that’s life. That’s why they have that famous saying, “Nothing is certain but death, taxes and Danica Patrick not winning the Indy 500.”
