L.A. Lakers fans had cause to celebrate Monday night, after their team defeated the Orlando Magic to claim the NBA championship.  Of course, in L.A., “celebrate” is synonymous with “break stuff, flip cars, set things on fire and steal whatever isn’t tied down.”  You know what they say:  it ain’t a party until someone gets hit with tear gas.

Half a world away, another city finds its streets beset with violence and destruction.  Of course, in Tehran, you can understand people being angry: their rights and freedoms as individuals are in jeopardy after an allegedly fraudulent election.  Now the whole of Iran teeters on the brink of revolution, and the world waits to see what all this will mean for the precarious Middle Eastern situation at large (except CNN who don’t seem to give a rip).

Lakers fan is wondering if there are any great shoe stores in Tehran, where they could steal themselves a pair of Nike Zoom Kobe IV’s.  Meanwhile, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is wondering what parking attendants make in L.A….cause he might be needing the work.
