Jim Brown Wishes Tiger Woods Would Speak Up
Legendary football hero and activist Jim Brown always has a lot to say about everything, and this time, he is saying stuff about Tiger Woods – and not good stuff. Seems Brown is just about the only person on earth who doesn’t think Woods deserves to be fawned over like the golfing Dalai Lama. Brown’s issues with Tiger center around Tiger’s well-known reticence to speak out on any social or political issues whatsoever:
You know what’s so interesting about Tiger to me? He is a killer, he will run over you, he will kick your ass. But as an individual for social change? Terrible. Terrible. Because he can get away with teaching kids to play golf, and that’s his contribution. In the real world, I can’t teach kids to play golf and that’s my contribution, if I’ve got that kind of power.
I’m not exactly sure what Brown expects Tiger to do. Find some Bloods and Crips to make peace between? It’s clearly not in Tiger’s DNA to get involved with such things. Dude just wants to play golf, make some scratch, pump out babies with his sick-hot Swedish wife and hump Buicks. And occasionally clown around with a cardboard cut-out of Scott Van Pelt. I personally can’t begrudge him that. Except the Scott Van Pelt part. That’s just frivolous.
