Jeff Fisher is a Big Jim Carrey Fan. Or Maybe Jeff Daniels.
Titans running back Chris Johnson declared on Wednesday that the “Slash & Dash” nickname, by which he and teammate LenDale White were known last season, has officially been sent to the showers. This has set off a chain reaction of new nickname brainstorming, most of it lame, except for one suggestion by Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who proposed an amusing new tandem moniker when speaking to a reporter:
“I’m sure they’ll come up with something else,” Fisher cracked. “Dumb and Dumber or something.’’
The obvious question is: which one’s “Dumb” and which one’s “Dumber?” Yeah, you’re right – White is clearly “Dumber.” That’s a no-brainer, if you’ll pardon the pun.
The next obvious question: if Johnson is “Dumb” and White is “Dumber,” what is Vince Young? If Jeff Fisher had his way, Young would be on the next plane out of town, and it would be some other coach’s job to give him a nickname that playfully but somewhat uncomfortably calls his intelligence into question.
