Ochocinco Needs to Work on His Sense of Proportion
Chad Johnson was tweeting about Michael Jackson Thursday afternoon, same as just about everyone else on the face of the earth, when his grief and sadness over the King of Pop’s passing caused him to post something that immediately called into question his overall sense of historical perspective.
“Okay, first Mrs. Fawcett now Mr. Jackson, please tell me that this is a mistaken rumor, if not this is just as sad as 9/11,” Ochocinco tweeted.
Really Ocho? As sad as 9/11? But not as sad as Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust or the day Jesus was crucified?
Ocho, realizing what an idiot he’d been for tweeting that, immediately offered the following pair of retractions:
okay not as bad as 911, its sad period, both situations my goodness people, they just said he is okay in the hospital
The 9/11 was a bit over the top, i am just in an emotional state right now, bare with me while i regroup people, be back in 10 minutes
Yes Chad, you’re right, it was a very emotional day. We forgive you likening the not-entirely-surprising death of a faded pop star to the slaughter of 2000 people by terrorists. Now maybe it’s time to turn off the computer and, I don’t know, start getting ready for the season?
