Chris Cooley’s Idea of Fun: Burning Dead Cows

You never know what you’re going to see when you go on Chris Cooley’s blog. It’s possible you could catch a glimpse of Cooley’s junk in a picture of him studying his playbook…or you could read a story about the time Chris and his homies rolled up on a dead bovine and decided to dispose of the body in a way that would make the Mythbusters proud:
We were cruising around on our new land in Wyoming the other day and we found an old dead cow. So we decided that we would get rid of it by setting it on fire. Needless to say, it was a success. I will post the video of it soon, but for now here are some pictures.
I personally can’t wait for that video. I doubt it will be as awesome as the exploding whale, but it will be awesome enough.

June 30th, 2009 at 11:06 amas a farm boy from n.iowa, i’d say yes this is a good thing to do. you basically have 2 options when a cow dies. yes the cow was dead for all you peta people out there. but and animal that size is difficult to bury, although it can be done with a skid loader. there is the option of having the vet or a rendering company come and pick it up for you, but not only are you out of the income potential of the animal, now you have a tremendious financial burden of removing a dead LARGE animal. it ain’t cheap. so really the best most economical, and desease proof method is to drag the carcus out in an open field area, and yes burn it. i speak for iowa farmers, but it must be different with the open range cattle herds they have in the wyoming ranges.? you do what you gotta do. he may just find it interesting to tape it????? no skin off my head.
