Bartolo Colon is Missing

Bartolo Colon is not a small man.  In fact he is a giant tudboat.  That being the case, you would think it would be rather difficult to misplace him.  But, misplace him the White Sox have, and right on the eve of his scheduled rehab start in Charlotte.

“I know where he is supposed to be right now. He’s supposed to be in Charlotte, preparing to start Thursday,” Sox GM Kenny Williams said. “Efforts to contact his agent have been successful. Their efforts to contact their client have not been so successful.”

Williams went on to say that, if Colon shows up to the rehab start and demonstrates that he can get his breaking ball over, he will get a shot on July 24 when the Sox need an extra arm for a doubleheader.  Evidently, Bartolo is not wild with enthusiasm over this chance, otherwise he would have his giant fanny in Charlotte where the Sox want him to be.

Or, maybe Bartolo is wild with enthusiasm over being in Charlotte, but just doesn’t know where Charlotte is.  If it can happen to Andre Smith, it can happen to anyone.  Well, anyone who is as dumb as Andre Smith, anyway.
