“Friends” of former Nets star Richard Jefferson turned up at Manhattan’s posh (I love that word) Mandarin Oriental Saturday to celebrate his wedding to former Nets dancer Kesha Ni’Cole Nichols. Only problem: Richard broke the engagement off literally just a day before, but didn’t bother telling anyone beyond his family and closest buds, leaving all those members of his outer circle wondering what the hell just happened.
The story has a happy ending for Jefferson’s fake friends though: according to the New York Post, Jefferson sent someone over with his Black Amex, and the party went on without him or the bride, or anyone else Richard actually cares about.
Friends of Kesha Nichols say she was “stunned” by the sudden break-up, but “not entirely caught off-guard.” She consoled herself by showing up at the hotel anyway and taking an upgraded suite.
