Larry King, Sarah Palin & Diddy Are Waiting To Hear From You

If you gave me $1 for every time Diddy has tweeted Let’s Go on his Twitter account then I would have enough money to buy his Miami mansion.  The house right next to it would be mine as well if you gave me another $1 for every exclamation point.

As mentioned earlier today, I’m fascinated by Twitter.  Nearly 1.6 million people are following Diddy’s tweets and another 500,00+ are following the vapid musings of a quasi-celebrity like Heidi Montag.   Even Larry King has hopped aboard the Twitter bandwagon:

Just had my Metamucil.  Also ate an onion bagel with a little cream cheese.

Isn’t it funny that bagels have a hole in the middle?  I wonder why

Took my Cialis pill a few minutes ago.  I’m really going to show Shawn why I am the king tonight

Okay, those weren’t real but Larry did tweet about muffins and licorice within the past couple of days.  Don’t believe me?  Check it out for yourself by clicking here.  Oh, by the way, Larry has over 800,000 followers.

Now you’re probably thinking that I’m just another Twitter hater, right?  Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth.  I’ve actually done a complete 180 on it during the past five weeks since opening an account.

The potential of the technology is staggering.  With Twitter it’s now possible for every person to have direct access to athletes, general managers, media members and politicians.

Stories break on Twitter and millions of people are in the know in seconds.  For example, I first learned about Michael Jackson, Walter Cronkite and Steve McNair’s deaths on Twitter.  In June, NBA player Kevin Love was the first to report the news that Kevin McHale wasn’t coming back…much to the chagrin of GM David Kahn.

If you like a particular celebrity, athlete or public figure, chances are that the person already is on Twitter.  Kevin DurantArnold SchwarzeneggerKevin Spacey?  Affirmative to all three.  Even Sarah Palin is doin’ her thing.

Take it from a one-time Twitter skeptic like me.  If you’re still on the fence, I just have one thing to say: LET’S GO!!!!!!! Come on!!!!!!! Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!!!!
