I’m sure most of you have heard the rumors about Jamie Lee Curtis. However, hermaphrodite or no hermaphrodite, Jamie Lee has had one of the best bodies in Hollywood. Bar none.
Why am I writing about the gender of Jamie Lee Curtis this morning? It was reported yesterday that South African runner, Caster Semenya, might be a hermaphrodite as well (Ms./Mr. Semenya is pictured below).

Call me twisted if you want, but I find the subject of hermaphrodites (or intersexuals as they are sometimes called) absolutely fascinating.
Although I’ll refrain from commenting in great detail until the definitive findings are made public (“The Sun” hardly qualifies as a beacon of journalistic standards), I will say this: If it is indeed determined that Semenya is a hermaphrodite then I think she should be able to keep her gold medal. It’s just the right thing to do.
Apparently, Caster’s gender indentification won’t be completed until November so she will continue to be a huge story all over the world. As this is a long time to wait, I vow to keep you informed every step of the way…if for no other reason than to post hot pictures of Jamie Lee Curtis every few weeks. Although it’s a burden, it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

she probably has AIS. which is what Jamie Lee Curtis has. hermaphroditism is something distinct.
With AIS (Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome), there is a defect in the testosterone receptor. So although an individual is XY and has a normal amount of testosterone for a male (within the normal range), it doesn't get picked up by the receptors. Since the "default" for a human is a female body, without the effects of testosterone, the person presents as a female. But her karyotype will show XY.
