Snap Takes & Sinister Spin: LeBron, The Cavs & Daniel Snyder

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Welcome to a brand new monthly feature here at Pacman Jonesin’ called Snap Takes & Sinister Spin.  The feature was inspired by a tweet from the Twitter account of the bronzed and stylish @RicBucher.  While we do like to kid Ric (screw the K at the end, who needs it), his NBA commentary, sideline reports and insights are really topnotch.     Snap Take I:  Mike Brown coaches the best basketball player on the planet and doesn’t have a clue how to use him! Snap Take II: How many times is Brown going to continue to instuct LeBron to go 1 on 5 or run [...]

The NBA: Where The Fix Is In

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

David Stern      October 29th     Um Houston, I think we have a problem.  Excerpts of former referee Tim Donaghy’s new book Blowing The Whistle: The Culture Of Fraud In The NBA were posted yesterday and some of the revelations are quite damning…to say the least: To have a little fun at the expense of the worst troublemakers, the referees working the game would sometimes make a modest friendly wager amongst themselves: first ref to [...]

The PC Police Are Out In Force These Days

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bob Griese’s attempt at humor over the weekend was certainly inappropriate and ill advised.  Was it a racist comment though?  Did he deserve to be suspended for a week?  Absolutely not.  It’s just another example of the PC Police being completely out of control in this country.  Griese apologized for the unfortunate remark.  Let’s just turn the page, shall we? How out of control has it gotten?  Well, within the past few days we’ve had the Griese incident, the hens from “The View” harping on Barack Obama for playing pick-up basketball with his Boys Club and Kansas City running back Larry Johnson’s impending suspension for using the word faggots.    [...]

Steve Phillips To Enter Chubby Chaser Anonymous

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Faux Twitter Tweet of the Day My choice of road beef was an embarrassment to ESPN and I will seek treatment for an addiction to plus sized production assistants. Steve Phillips      October 26th   Less than a week after acknowledging a relationship with a 22-year old production assistant, Steve Phillips has been fired.  Last night, ESPN network spokesman Josh Krulewitz released the following statement about the termination: “Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN.  His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways.” Was Phillips fired for [...]
