Much to the chagrin and embarrassment of Steve Phillips, his scorned road beef jilted lover tubby temptress remained a top story again yesterday. Although these scandals almost always blow over, I have a sneaking suspicion this one will have legs.
It would really shock me to see Phillips become a GM or appear regularly on television again. At this point I have little doubt that his leave of absence from ESPN will be a permanent one and Phillips will resort to becoming a Major League scout living out of hotels (with a seemingly endless supply of road beef) for the next twenty years. We shall see…
