Some Light Housecleaning.
Last night we posted a rumor that Bill Stewart may be retiring. The rumor originated on the pay site Eersports.com, and was brought to our attention by our good friend Jim at Hail WV. Jim has since retracted his story in light of Bill Stewart calling the rumors of his retirement ”false”. Eersports for their part, are standing by the story. Both sites are doing what they feel is right, and that’s what they should do in this situation. The best part of the internet and the blogs is that often things don’t come directly from the horses mouth. We [...]
Mr. Suh Will Be Having The Brady For Thanksgiving
Congrats to the Lions for making a game of it through my initial dinner. That hasn’t happened since Barry Sanders retired. I’ll be back later tonight to rant about how much I hate Pitt. Until then, have a Happy Thanksgiving. Vid via Sportsgrid

The Home Run Derby: It’s All-American Juiced-Up Fun
The annual MLB All-Star festivities get underway Monday with that beloved summertime favorite, the Home Run Derby. Eight juiced-up combatants, four from each league, will compete to see who can hit the most juiced-up balls over the Busch Stadium fence, and in the process ruin their swings for the rest of the season. Oh, you don’t believe that bit about ruining the swings? You think it’s an Old Wives’ Tale? Tell that to Bobby Abreu, who tore it up like few before him at the Derby a few years ago, and still hasn’t gotten his stroke back. Experiences like Abreu’s [...]
Yes Virginia, There is an Andruw Jones
Andruw Jones is making headlines for something other than his weight. Wednesday night, the big free agent wash-out of 2008 slammed three homers for the Texas Rangers, leading the team to an 8-1 victory over the Angels. “That’s what Andruw is capable of,” teammate Michael Young raved. “That’s not the first time he’s shown power; he’s been doing it his whole career. There aren’t many guys in the game who have as much natural power as Andruw.” There aren’t many guys who have his appetite for junk food either. But Andruw has apparently curbed that, and now he’s back closer [...]
Tiger Sends Anthony Kim to His Room Without Supper
Anthony Kim went into the last round of the AT&T National tied at 10 under with Tiger Woods. If form held, Kim would wilt under the pressure of going head-to-head with Tiger, who of course never wilts himself or becomes even remotely soft and chewy. Well, form held. Kim started spraying the ball all over the track, landing on the wrong fairway, terrifying wildlife and even striking a fan. It got so bad for young Anthony that, on a lot of swings, he couldn’t even hold onto the club (Dave Winfield can relate). Tiger, meanwhile, kept eating up the course, [...]
All Andy Roddick had to do to claim his first ever Wimbledon championship was defeat Roger Federer, a man who had beaten him 18 out of their previous 20 matches, and who was himself looking to make history by winning his record 15th grand slam title. Roddick, despite dire predictions, was up to the task. At one point it even looked like Roddick might actually get the Federer-sized monkey off his back: The match was all even after two sets. The third went to a tiebreak, and Roddick had four straight set points to go up 2 sets to 1. [...]
