Some Light Housecleaning.

Last night we posted a rumor that Bill Stewart may be retiring. The rumor originated on the pay site Eersports.com, and was brought to our attention by our good friend Jim at Hail WV. Jim has since retracted his story in light of Bill Stewart calling the rumors of his retirement ”false”. Eersports for their part, are standing by the story. Both sites are doing what they feel is right, and that’s what they should do in this situation. The best part of the internet and the blogs is that often things don’t come directly from the horses mouth. We [...]

Derrick Rose is Sorry for Being an Idiot

AUTHOR: | IN: Jerky Behavior | COMMENTS: None Yet

Derrick Rose has formally apologized for being dumb enough to have his picture taken flashing gang signs at a Memphis party: “Recently, a photo has been circulating on the Internet which appears to depict me flashing a gang sign,” Rose said in the statement. “This photo of me was taken at a party I attended in Memphis while I was in school there, and was meant as a joke … a bad one, I now admit. I want to emphatically state, now and forever, that Derrick Rose is anti-gang, anti-drug, and anti-violence. I am not, nor have I ever been, [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

That Final Four run the Memphis Tigers made with Derrick Rose two years ago may be wiped from the books thanks to NCAA violations: Memphis athletic director R.C. In a letter to the school the NCAA says an unknown person took the SAT for a player, with his knowledge, and then the player used that [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Actual Game Action, Videos | COMMENTS: None Yet

This would’ve been the emblematic highlight of the whole first round…if only the Bulls hadn’t faded in the second half and lost to the Celtics.  Still a sick rejection though. Idea for new All-Star Game event:  guard shot-blocking contest.  Dwyane Wade vs. Derrick Rose.  How about it?

Boston Globe Whines About Refs in Celtics/Bulls Playoff Game

AUTHOR: | IN: Actual Game Action, Insanity | COMMENTS: 21 Comments

The writers at the Boston Globe can’t handle the fact that their beloved Celtics are currently tied 2-2 in the first round of the playoffs after being felled in game 4 by the upstart Chicago Bulls (in two overtimes no less).  So beside themselves are the Globe‘s scribes that they’ve even begun floating conspiracy theories about the refs:  Globe columnist Frank Dell’Apa points out that two of the officials from Game 4, Bill Kennedy and Dan Crawford, are from Chicago, and further claims that “an NBA source” saw members of Kennedy and Crawford’s families sporting Bulls gear at the game.  [...]
